Riley, Our Inspiration
Riley, my one-of-a-kind German Shorthaired Pointer, was a true companion and the inspiration for Riley's Ranch Pet Resort. Riley had boundless energy and loved going to the ranch and chasing all kinds of critters all day long; she loved hunting! By the end of the day however, she would lay in my lap and curl up for a good snuggle. She supported me through Vet School and all the challenges life threw at Aaron and me. When she left us at 13 1/2 years old, it left a canyon-sized hole in our hearts. Riley's Ranch Pet Resort is our loving tribute to her. We've made it our mission to provide a place where pets like Riley are excited to come, and pet owners have a peace of mind that their loved ones are safe and enjoying their time away from home.
Meet The Founder of Riley's Ranch Pet Resort
Dr. Amy Thomason, the founder of Riley's Ranch Pet Resort, harbored a childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian and owning a business. Following a course of study in business and a 5-year tenure in advertising, she eventually pursued her passion for veterinary medicine and has been practicing for 15 years. Amy's vision included establishing a luxury pet resort where pets could enjoy themselves in a safe environment while their owners could feel enthusiastic about the experience.
With a decade of leadership and business management experience under her belt, Amy believes in the importance of protocols and training to provide top-notch service to pet parents and their furry family members. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, focusing on Marketing, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University.
